Report: The Road To Inclusion

Deloitte Canada released its white paper The road to inclusion: Integrating people with disabilities into the workplace, at the Business Leadership Network Breakfast, a Job Opportunity Information Network (JOIN) event, on July 7, 2010.

The white paper contains recommendations from a series of roundtable sessions held across Canada this spring. The sessions began March 3, 2010, in Halifax and traveled to six other cities during the Paralympic Games, including Toronto, Ottawa, Saskatoon, Montreal, Edmonton, and concluded in Vancouver on March 19. Each session included representatives from the business community, special interest groups, government agencies, current and former Paralympic athletes, and Deloitte partners and colleagues.

This white paper is the result of these discussions, and it provides insights into key recommendations of those involved. In making a business case for inclusion, the white paper emphasizes the need to address barriers to the job market, looks at accessibility and accommodation issues and suggests next steps.
